FUEL LEVY SURCHARGE

Due to the significant increase in world oil prices since early 2004, Australia has seen substantial increases in the pump price of diesel fuel.

Diesel fuel is our largest cost factor after labour and represents a huge portion of our total cost structure. In order to keep our freight rates at reasonable levels, Van Berkel Plant Transport introduced a fuel levy surcharge in October 2004.

The fuel levy is calculated on the cents per litre (cpl) cost from our supplier. It is reviewed on or around the 25th day of each month and updated accordingly.
